Firefox 2x

Linux Nobara: Entweder einmal die native Installation und einmal Flatpak, oder Firefox wird nur einmal installiert – zwei verschiedene Instanzen. Hier sind zwei saubere Desktop-Starter für Firefox (normal) und Firefox (SOCKS) auf Nobara/Fedora. Einer meiner Firefox-Browser verwendet das Tor-Netzwerk, der andere nicht.

Zuerst Firefox komplett löschen – inkl. allem drum und dran:

sudo dnf remove firefox -y
rm -rf ~/.mozilla/firefox

Anschließend neu installieren:

sudo dnf install firefox -y

Zwei neue Profile anlegen:

# Profil-Manager starten
firefox -ProfileManager

Normal → Standard-Internet ohne Proxy
SOCKS → Für Tor/SOCKS

Wichtig: „Normal“ und „SOCKS“ exakt so schreiben, Groß-/Kleinschreibung beachten.

Desktop-Dateien anlegen:

mkdir -p ~/.local/share/applications

Starter 1: Firefox (Normal):

nano ~/.local/share/applications/firefox-normal.desktop

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Firefox (Normal)
Comment=Firefox ohne Proxy
Exec=firefox -P Normal -no-remote %u
Icon=firefox
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Network;WebBrowser;
StartupNotify=true
StartupWMClass=firefox-normal

Starter 2: Firefox (SOCKS):

nano ~/.local/share/applications/firefox-socks.desktop

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Firefox (SOCKS)
Comment=Firefox mit SOCKS-Proxy (Tor)
Exec=firefox -P SOCKS -no-remote %u
Icon=firefox
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Network;WebBrowser;
StartupNotify=true
StartupWMClass=firefox-socks

Ausführbar machen:

chmod +x ~/.local/share/applications/firefox-normal.desktop
chmod +x ~/.local/share/applications/firefox-socks.desktop

Menü neu laden:

update-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications

Fertig. Ich habe nun 2 getrennte Firefox-Instanzen, aber nur einmal Firefox installiert.
